BETWEEN THE PAGES

"Many creative forms in life such as plays, music, and drawings start life as a blank sheet or page, be it a piece of paper or on a computer screen. These sheets and pages are the basis for so much expression and it is on and between them that worlds can be created, ideas explored and imaginations stirred. "

SEEING MI (Mental Illness)

Picture
We're told to talk about our mental health, and we should, but I find that I am still met with the same looks of confusion, disbelief, and ignorance. Even though I feel like all my feelings are tattooed on my skin for everyone to see... mental illness is invisible and if people can't see something, well, they lean toward believing nothings there. So, I wanted to show people what mental health feels like.

When you hear people express that they feel suffocated, or like they're drowning, because there are no precise words that can truly sum up their emotions. Talking is difficult when you can't find the words you need.

PROJECT POCKET

Project Pockets was conceived by a collective interest on learning the history of pockets and the problems that arose when they were introduced to women's wardrobes. The mutual frustration on this topic sparked many discussions which allowed us to explore other feelings and responses to this particular matter. Such as; the size and uselessness of pockets, how they play a part in safety, pocket change and tokens (inspired by the Suffragettes) as well as the interesting and sentimental items that can be found in there..

Project Pockets is an ongoing, adaptable display - physically and virtually - which covers many subject matters.
